Sure it may be a little obvious for Valentine’s Day, but we wanted to feature LOVEseats on this most romantic day of the year. Afterall, isn’t Valentine’s Day all about grand romantic, if cheesy, gestures? Ever wonder where the name loveseat originated? According to the Encyclopedia Britannica this style of furniture originated in the late 17th century as an extra wide seat in order to accommodate the large dresses worn during this era.
